Expanded Study Opportunities!

Great news for temporary foreign workers (TFWs) in Canada! The Canadian government has recently introduced a groundbreaking measure that opens up new possibilities for international TFWs seeking to enroll in post-secondary programs. Starting June 27, 2023, TFWs can now pursue study programs lasting longer than six months without the need for a separate study permit. This means you can now enroll in a Personal Training Certification or Nutrition program at Infofit Fitness Career College in Vancouver BC, for more than six months without having to go through the study permit application process.

TFWs Seeking to Enroll in Post-Secondary Programs

Before this update, TFWs were limited to programs lasting six months or less, or they had to apply for a study permit to join longer programs. But now, the time limit on study programs has been eliminated for TFWs, as long as their work permits are valid or until June 27, 2026, when the policy may be subject to change.

This change presents exciting opportunities for personal and professional growth for TFWs in Canada. Those with a valid work permit or who have applied for work permit renewal on or before June 7, 2023, can now study full time or part time. This flexibility allows TFWs to enhance their knowledge and skills while still maintaining their employment status.
