With the dramatic rise in sugar consumption, making it a growing health concern, too much sugar is North America’s culprit for weight gain and diabetes. Interestingly, we are searching for new ways to decrease our sugar intake. Fortunately, substituting with Stevia is an excellent way to accomplish this. A naturally sweet herb, commonly used in place of sugar. Stevia is a natural sweetener found in powdered or liquid formats. It can be a great substitute for sugar to sweetened foods.

Can be Found in Liquid and Powder Form

When replacing sugar with different Stevia products, expect to have varying levels of concentrations and degrees of sweetness. It will require some technique. Remaining to one brand and one format will help you balance out how much to use in place of sugar. It can be found in liquid and powder form. For 1 cup of sugar, use 1 teaspoon of liquid concentrate or teaspoon of powdered extract. For 1 tablespoon of sugar, 6 to 9 drops of liquid concentrate or use 1/4 teaspoon of powder. For 1 teaspoon of sugar, use 2 to 4 drops of liquid concentrate or a pinch to 1/16 teaspoon of powdered extract.
