A raw food detox diet is a way to detoxify the body, refresh and renew

Humans Are the Only Creatures on Earth Who Cook Their Food

Raw Food Detox Diet

The idea of consuming an uncooked vegan diet is not a recent one. Humans are, in fact, the only creatures on Earth who cook their food. Like primates, the digestive system is designed to function best by consuming fruits, leafy vegetables, algae and seaweed, nuts and seeds. Cooking was used to transform foods (meats, cereals) and destroy pathogenic bacteria, our method of gathering, cooking and consumption have changed over the past 1000 years, but our digestive system remains that same.

Helpful Digestive Enzymes

Think of food like a world traveler. When it’s raw, it’s like taking a suitcase full of everything it needs on the trip. What’s in the suitcase are helpful digestive enzymes that help your body break down and process that food. When food is cooked, it’s like the luggage got lost on the journey and it has to borrow everything it needs. Once the cooked food hits your digestive system, it has to borrow the enzyme from you, and that means manufacturing its own digestive enzymes to digest the cooked food. When the body is working hard on digestion, it has little time to do other tasks such as cleansing, healing and building. Without an adequate supply of metabolic enzymes, over time, we suffer.

Raw Food Detox Diet Detoxifies the Body – High Enzyme Diet

Eating a high enzyme diet consisting of raw fruits and vegetables sprouted seeds nuts grains and some seaweed will profoundly increase your chances of achieving optimal health. A raw food detox diet is a way to detoxify the body, refresh and renew. If you do it well, it removes toxins or other contaminants that are stored in our body fat and cells in a healthy way. Detoxing improves health, energy, immune system, memory and digestion.

Detox programs do not need to be boring, tasteless nor do you have to starve while on a program. What you add to your diet is just as important as what you take out of your diet, and by spending a little time looking at the benefits of phytonutrient dense foods vs. less beneficial options, you will be amazed how many food options are available to you. With plant base raw foods there is no counting of calories, fats or carbs; just beautiful delicious food made by you.
