Before you start applying for jobs, think about what area of fitness interests you the most. Check out fitness clubs or studios that specialize in what you love to do with your workouts. Spend time there doing some workouts to see what the atmosphere is like as a “client or member”. Find the trainers that you would like to aspire to be like and ask if you can shadow them for a few sessions. Offer them an incentive like buying them lunch.  Take the time to research your choices, a little leg work and some volunteer work, can save you valuable time.

When you have decided where you would like to work, remember to keep yourself current with what is going on in the health and fitness industry.  All certifications require you to have continuing education credits or CECs as a way of improving the quality of leadership in the fitness industry.
