Effective Communication
Written by Dr. Allison Rees
Effective communication is essential in every relationship, whether personal or professional. This section of the workshop teaches you the fundamentals of safe and supportive communication. Dr. Allison Rees breaks down the three key components: listening, speaking, and taking turns.
You’ll learn how to develop these skills to improve your connections with others. Mastering the art of giving and receiving feedback will have a positive impact on all your relationships. With better communication, you’ll find it easier to resolve issues, build trust, and create stronger bonds in both your personal and work life.
Leadership Skills
Written by Christina Truscott
Being a leader in the fitness industry—or aspiring to become one—requires wearing many hats. As a leader, you’re not just a manager; you’re also a motivator, counselor, co-worker, and problem solver. This part of the workshop, created by Christina Truscott, is designed to help you become a more effective fitness leader.
You’ll learn how to identify your strengths and weaknesses as a leader, and how to gain the trust and confidence of your team. The course covers strategies for working with both productive and non-productive employees, helping you manage your team more effectively. If you’re looking to take on a leadership role, or want to improve in your current position, this workshop provides the tools you need. It’s also a requirement if you’re looking to become a registered Supervisor with the BCRPA.
Conflict Resolution and Dealing with Difficult Behaviours
Written by Dr. Allison Rees
Conflict is often seen as a negative, but it doesn’t have to be. In this section, Dr. Allison Rees shows you how conflict can lead to creativity and growth. You’ll learn how to break out of defensive responses and handle conflicts in a positive, proactive way.
The workshop also covers strategies for dealing with difficult behaviors in the workplace. Whether it’s a challenging client or a difficult co-worker, you’ll learn how to handle tough situations while staying calm, safe, and comfortable. These skills will not only improve your work environment but will also lead to stronger, more productive relationships with those around you.
Goal Setting and Motivation
Everyone struggles with motivation from time to time, whether it’s getting yourself or others excited about a task. This section of the workshop focuses on identifying your personal strengths and weaknesses, helping you reignite your passion and drive for success.
You’ll learn how to go from having an idea or a goal to taking action and making that goal a reality. Whether you’re trying to motivate yourself, your family, or your employees, this part of the workshop will provide the strategies you need to stay organized, stay excited, and achieve success in both your personal and professional life.
