After I have passed my Group Fitness ICE, what’s next?

Your status will be updated in your Fitness Registry account. Once you are updated you are eligible to teach Group Fitness classes.

What should I wear for Group Fitness ICE?

Please wear comfortable gym attire.

What if I cannot come in person to Group Fitness ICE? Can I do ICE online?

You can complete your ICE via video, we would send you further information upon request.

Can I do a tutoring session on the practical part of the Group Fitness ICE?

Yes, if you need help with the practical portion please book a tutoring session, we can go over the practical components of the ICE. Tutoring is $65 per hour.

How much is the Group Fitness ICE?

The cost of the ICE is $157.50 for Infofit Students and $204.75 for non Infofit Students. You will need to pay on the day that you submit your ICE package.

Will I know I have passed Group Fitness ICE on the day?

Yes, you will, your evaluator will email BCRPA after the ICE to let them know you have passed. BCRPA will update your status to Group Fitness Leader.

How long is the practical part of the Group Fitness ICE?

Your ICE will be 2 hours.

  1. Show up 15-minutes early for your ICE to prepare your music and equipment to be used (Infofit will provide the equipment)
  2. You are to demonstrate a 30-minute class that has a:
    • 5-minute warm-up section with your introduction
    • 10- minute cardio section
    • 10-minute Muscular conditioning section
    • 5-minute stretching section
What will I be expected to do for the practical portion of the Group Fitness ICE? Do I need to bring my own client?

You are to demonstrate a 30-minute class that has a:
1. 5-minute warm-up section with your introduction
2. 10- minute cardio section
3. 10-minute Muscular conditioning section
4. 5-minute stretching section

You will need to bring 1-2 participants for your ICE.

Where will my practical portion of the Group Fitness ICE be?

Your practical portion will be held at Infofit, if you are doing your ICE with another evaluator, they will provide you with details on the gym/studio they will be using.

What is the process for booking my Group Fitness ICE?

Once you have completed the ICE package you can contact Infofit to schedule the practical portion of the ICE. You will need to hand in your completed ICE package to Infofit, mail it in or scan (we will charge you for printing). We will book your ICE 5 business days after receiving the completed ICE Package.

What do I need to complete for the Group Fitness ICE?

You will need to complete the BCRPA ICE Package, which can be found here, under Group Fitness.

Form A – Is your cover sheet and it has a checklist to follow so you complete and hand in all the correct forms.

Form B2 – You must obtain 8 hours of practical teaching time, and record the information on this sheet.

Form C – Please complete your information on the top of this form, the remainder of the form will be completed by your evaluator.

I passed my Personal Training ICE exam. What’s next?

Your ICE evaluator will email your final score to BCRPA. BCRPA will update your registration status as soon as they can. Please note that it might take up to 2 weeks to see your updated status. BCRPA will email you once they have added your results to your account. Additionally, you can check your registration status by logging into your BCRPA registry account.

Can I take my Personal Training ICE exam and the Personal Training written exam on the same day?

No, please take your personal training ICE exam (2-hour) and the personal training written exam (3-hour) on 2 separate days. Both exams require lots of your attention and energy, and we recommend that you take them separately for your maximum benefit.
